Pipe Tees
Pipe tees are three-way fittings used for combining or splitting fluid flow in piping systems. Available as equal tees (all three ends same diameter) and reducing tees (branch smaller than run), our tees are manufactured to ASME B16.9 and DIN 2615 standards. The tee geometry is designed to minimize stress concentration at the branch intersection while maintaining full pressure rating of the connected pipe.
We produce tees in both seamless (up to DN600) and welded (DN650-DN1200) construction from carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel materials. Barred tees with integral reinforcement are also available for high-pressure and cyclic service applications. Each tee is dimensionally checked at the three end diameters, wall thickness at the crotch area, and end bevel geometry before shipment.
ASME B16.9 / DIN 2615
ASTM A234 WPB
DN15-DN1200
Applications
- Pipeline branching in process industries
- Distribution headers and manifolds
- Pump and compressor station piping
- Fire water distribution networks
- Instrument and utility piping
Quality Assurance
All Pipe Tees products undergo NDT testing with MTC per EN 10204 3.1. Third-party inspection by SGS, BV, TUV available.
Pipe Tees Technical Specifications
Pipe tees create a T-junction in piping systems, allowing branch connections. Equal tees have the same diameter on all three ends; reducing tees have a smaller branch outlet.

Manufacturing Process & Applications
Pipe tees are manufactured by hot extrusion (seamless) or welding:
- Seamless Tees: Heated pipe is hydroformed or extruded, pushing material outward to form the branch. A pull-out rod creates the branch opening.
- Welded Tees: Branch pipe welded to a reinforced opening on the run pipe (welded-in branch).
- Heat Treatment: Normalizing to relieve forming stresses.
- Beveling: All three ends beveled to ASME B16.25.
- NDT: UT on crotch area (high-stress point), magnetic particle on welds.
Common applications:
- Branch Connections: Creating take-offs from main piping to equipment or sub-lines.
- By-pass Lines: Allowing flow diversion around valves or instruments for maintenance.
- Instrumentation: Pressure and temperature taps on process lines.
- Blow-down and Drain: Low-point drains and high-point vents in piping systems.
Reducing tees are specified when the branch is smaller than the main run, commonly used for instrument connections and branch lines to smaller equipment.
